The title of our March event was:
The Sub
We learned from the Bible that Jesus was like a substitute in a football match, coming on to take the place of Barabbas who was a murderer and Jesus died instead of Barabbas and instead of us on the cross. Jesus took the blame for all the bad things we have done so that we can be forgiven by God.
We also learned that because Jesus offers us forgiveness we need to forgive others who do wrong things to us.
The memory verse was Isaiah chapter 53 verse 5 and it says
"But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered"
You can read more about Jesus taking the place of Barabbas in the Bible, Luke chapter 23 verses 13-25
Because we have forgiveness with God we can "be kind and tender-hearted to one another and forgive one another as God has forgiven you through Christ" - Ephesians chapter 4 verse 32, the Bible
This is a very important message from the Bible and although it is serious, we also like to have some fun learning it:
