X:Site September 2008 showed us that

God has something to say! ...About prayer

We learned from a story about King Hezekiah and the people of Judah and how God protected his people when they called to him in their troubles. Everything God promised came true, as he is in control even when it looks as if disaster is inevitable. Like Hezekiah we can talk to God and he will help us too.

You can find this story in 2 Kings 18:13 19 and Isaiah 36 - 37

Our memory verse was: God is our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1

And we sang a prayer together by Ishmael. Did you like it, did you pray it?

Richard and Abi led us in a lively game called Pay the King where teams had to bring the items they asked for. First team with the item won points!

The band gets bigger every time!

Some of the Core Team help Janet tell the story. Left to right: Jo aka Emperor Sennacherib of Assyria, Janet as the Narrator, Andrew aka King Hezekiah and Dave aka Isaiah.

The evil Assyrian commanders, Janice, Margret and Alison. They were trying their hardest to be nasty !

In our small groups we learnt the memory verse. God is our strength and shelter, always ready to help in times of trouble. Psalm 46 : 1

Some of the team leaders were definately in touch with their Assyrian side and made sure their groups learnt their verse well!
